Bob’s Retirement (no, really!)

Hello everyone!

While we announced Bob’s retirement from doing taxes at the beginning of 2021, we didn’t expect that we would be making another announcement regarding Bob’s full retirement so quickly. But, it turns out that retirement really does agree with Bob. πŸ™‚

After thinking about his next move all of last year, he decided that he liked the idea of having more time to do whatever he feels like doing. So, he decided to retire fully from the financial planning business as well. Yes, we are just as surprised as you all are!

It’s not for lack of a love of his work – he still does love it, and has always been the quintessential workaholic. However, I think we can all agree that being able to have your own time to do things outside of work is nothing but a good thing.

He spent the better part of 2021 searching for a person who could take over RD’s Financial Strategies, and was lucky enough to meet Alex Hayes, who has been in the financial planning industry for more than twenty years. After discussing their similar investing philosophies and getting to know each other better, it was clear that Alex would be the next person at the helm of RD’s Financial Strategies.

So at the end of 2021, Alex became a managing partner of RD’s Financial Strategies.

Although the two businesses have always worked closely together – RD’s Tax Strategies, Inc. and RD’s Financial Strategies have been two separate entities for years. We are going to continue a close association with RD’s Financial Strategies, and in that regard, nothing will be changing in terms of the services we provide. Jason & Teresa Marino remain in charge of running RD’s Tax Strategies, Inc. and Bob does remain as an owner of RD’s Tax Strategies, Inc.

The bottom line is that we are still endeavoring to provide the service you all have come to rely on. We are so thrilled for Bob to be able to take this momentous step – something we all truly thought he would never allow himself to do. πŸ™‚

Stay tuned for our usual updates to our forms and organizational tools for the coming tax season, and we hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season!
